This was another cloudy day in Dayton, but we got some GREAT finds: a BNSF unit tank car train with a colorful lashup, a BNSF freight with a six-diesel lashup, some friendly engineers, and my personal favorite: the first KCS SD70ACe!!!
0:00 - A train with a CSX C40-8 heads by a rickety crossing outside of Dayton.
UP 4769 - EMD SD70M
CSX 7618 - GE C40-8
2:18 - SWEET LASHUP! A unit tank car train with a warbonnet, UP, and BNSF lashup heads by through the same spot!
BNSF 940 - GE C41-8W
BNSF 4654 - GE C44-9W
UP 4385 - EMD SD70M
BNSF 4151 - GE C44-9W
5:38 - A short UP freight crawls through the same spot.
UP 9465 - GE C41-8W
UP 9668 - GE C44-9W
UP 3839 - EMD SD70M
7:57 - Cool! A KCS freight heads through the hill near Dayton with THE VERY FIRST KCS SD70ACE!!! :D The engineer also gave a shave-and-a-haircut as he was coming!
KCS 4696 - GE ES44AC
KCS 4000 - EMD SD70ACe
10:20 - Down in Devers, a UP freight with a friendly driver starts up and heads up the Lafayette sub. We saw this heading through the Dayton yard later in the day, but the video I took of it was really bad.
UP 9538 - GE C41-8W
UP 9739 - GE C44-9W
UP 9762 - GE C44-9W
16:52 - A few pictures before lunch time: a couple of UP diesels, some BNSF switchers, and a UP rock train that we would catch later.
UP 9550 - GE C41-8W
UP 9740 - GE C44-9W

UP 9603 - GE C44-9W
17:08 - Big lashup! A BNSF freight with six GEs, including an NS unit, crawls toward the Baytown sub. Before this train, the rock train moved into the yard and left once the BNSF train passed.
BNSF 7609 - GE ES44DC
BNSF 7176 - GE ES44C4
BNSF 4639 - GE C44-9W
NS 9259 - GE C44-9W
BNSF 7888 - GE ES44DC
BNSF 5401 - GE C44-9W
19:31 - We chased the rock train up the line and caught him at a crossing on the side of the road. This engineer was also friendly!
UP 9578 - GE C44-9W
UP 9833 - GE C44-9W
UP 9603 - GE C44-9W
22:12 - Another BNSF freight slowly backs up into the Baytown sub. I'm guessing that he was either switching cars in the large yard on that line, or he originated from the Lafayette sub and was heading into the Baytown sub.
BNSF 4370 - GE C44-9W
BNSF 5456 - GE C44-9W
