I saw that UP 1988, the Katy heritage unit, was spotted earlier this morning nearby, so even though I thought it was probably long gone, I figured it would be worth a shot to look for it in Dayton anyway. Not surprisingly, I didn't find it, and I even missed a KCS grain train with two grey AC44CWs, but I still found a couple of trains to make my day worthwhile. I also saw an unusual case with some crossing gates in Liberty.
0:00 - While waiting for a BNSF train to leave the siding in Liberty, I filmed a random truck carrying an excavator driving by the train.
0:10 - Once the train started up, I chased it into Dayton and got a better video of it there. He was going fast through Liberty, but slowed down to move onto a side track in Dayton.

4:18 - I went to Liberty to film a KCS freight when a strange incident happened. The train had very slowly crawled through town and even stopped before moving by me. The crossings were also acting strange, as they were lowering very early before the train and kept going up and down as the train was approaching. My best guess was that there was work being done on a certain crossing, which made the train slow down, which then made the crossings act strange.
